AN INDIGENOUS DIGITAL CURRENCY

Reconciliation, written into the ledger.

rigen is an Indigenous digital currency, being proven in the open before it is sold to anyone. Today that means a pilot: real merchants taking real payments over real counters, and a weekly survey where our communities are paid to say what this should become. Any token that scales it comes only after the pilot has earned it.

WHY

Why a currency of our own

01
Origen means originThe name says what it is. Value carries where it came from, and a currency issued with our own nations keeps the record of our own economy, not one borrowed from someone else’s.
02
Proof before promisesThis is a pilot, not a sale. Real merchants, real payments, real answers from the community first. A currency that cannot hold up on one counter has no business asking a nation to trust it.
03
A fund written for 620+ nationsThe intended design: if a token launches, the larger share is not sold. It would be allocated to First Nations bands across Canada and locked in the open, unsealed seal by seal as the bands themselves are onboarded. That is the plan this pilot is earning the right to build.
04
Sovereignty is infrastructureLand, water, language, and now the rails value travels on. When the ledger is ours, the rules are written at home, in the open, by the people they govern.
05
Value that circulates at homeIn most of our communities a dollar leaves within days. Origen is built to close that loop: earned in the community, spent in the community, starting with the merchants already running the checkout.
06
Built for the counterIt runs on the phone beside the register. Large targets, plain language, no crypto vocabulary asked of anyone. Merchants hold their own wallet; the network records a payment, never a person.
We are not asking for a seat in someone else’s economy. We are laying the ledger our grandchildren will inherit.
THE ORIGEN PRINCIPLE
AFTER THE PILOT · THE SEVEN SEALS

A fund that unlocks only as nations join.

None of this is open yet. Nothing here is an offer, and nothing is on sale. What follows is the design Origen intends to prove: if the pilot shows the currency works on a real counter and a token launches, a share of supply would be allocated to First Nations bands across Canada and locked from day one. It would not vest on a clock: each of the seven seals would open as bands are onboarded, so the fund unlocks only as fast as the nations themselves join. All of it remains subject to legal and community review.

You are here: the pilot, before Seal I. Each seal will carry a work commissioned from an Indigenous artist, and every unlock is designed to be held in contract rather than in memory.
THE PILOT, NOW

Two ways to take part today

The pilot has one job: prove the currency is useful before a single token is sold. Two things make that proof: merchants who take payment with it, and communities who say what it has to do. Both are open now; the token launch comes after.

FOR MERCHANTS

Registration comes first

The checkout only pays into wallets registered with Origen. Write to us with your business, the community you serve, and the wallet you want paid. We register it, walk you through the app, and add you to the places Origen is accepted. There is no fee and no equipment (the phone by your register is enough), and whatever you take in sOGEN you can redeem back with us for its dollar value.

01Write to hello@origencoin.com with your business and the community you serve.02We register your wallet so the checkout can pay into it.03Open the app on the phone you already have, and take payment.
FOR THE COMMUNITY

It starts with your answers

Before anything else is built, the community says what this is for. The survey is Origen's first ecosystem utility. It records how our communities want the project to develop: which uses come first, which safeguards matter, what a currency has to do to be trusted on a counter.

Five questions a week, one entry per person, and answers are reviewed before any tokens move, so the pilot is not gamed. Once yours clears, $5 in sOGEN (the pilot token) is airdropped to your wallet. Spend it with the registered merchants, or hold it: the intention is that sOGEN will be redeemable one to one if OGEN launches.
